In my younger years winter was hands down my favourite season. In England it gets dark as early as 4.30. I'd rush home from school, put on a massive oversized jumper, some fluffy socks, make a cup of herbal tea and spend my evenings sat in the lounge with my family, in front of a warm fire.
As I got older I anticipated the arrival of Summer like nothing else. Floral dresses, driving with the windows down and staying out late at the beach most nights with my friends. Now it's Autumn's turn. A few years ago I watched Carrie Hope Fletcher's "Letter's to Autumn" series and now I can honestly say I get the obsession. A couple weeks back I had a moment of realisation. A pile of conkers were on the floor in front of me and the leaves above were yellow, light green, rich brown and warm red. I felt this physical feeling of excitement and positive anticipation overwhelm me, the fresh Autmnal air ran right to my soul. And in that moment, then and there, I decided that Autumn was my favourite season. So there we have it a short and sweet post of appreciation to you Autumn. I am a convert.
